Driving under the influence of any substance that alters and impairs our driving ability is both illegal and highly dangerous. In this module, we consider the facts surrounding drink and drug driving in Ireland.

We explore accepted cultural attitudes and norms and reflect on how these can impact on our own personal attitudes and driving behaviours. We identify through role play and group discussion the huge part peer pressure plays in today’s modern society. We offer new peer refusal skills and techniques as an alternative way of managing difficult social situations where peer pressure often leads to impulsive thinking, risk taking and poor decision making behaviours.
